"He must have been drawn into some sink"
Because I know many have been worried about the outcome, I must report that last Monday afternoon, my kitchen sink was fixed and the water turned back on in there. Never have I been so glad to run the dishwasher in my life, I think.
In ten minutes or so I need to drag some folks out of bed so we can go hit "Excorcist: The Beginning." Not expecting great things but there's not much else playing in town. In fact, of the four movies here, the only other one I'd consider is "Aliens vs. Predator" and we saw that the weekend before last. It was...eh. An enjoyable enough ride. Might be worth checking out the DVD if the rumored director's cut version makes it to disc.
And I've solved my Star Wars DVD dilemma. See, I was a child of Star Wars. One of the great unwashed masses who saw all three films (particularly the first two) in the theaters multiple times during their initial runs. No, I don't have an X-Wing pilot flightsuit in my closet (tho it would be cool) and I stopped getting the action figures in high school, but they've remained an important part of my entertainment life since they came out...until the dark times. Until the Special Edition and new prequels. I have trouble believing I could ever be so un-excited about the upcoming DVD release, but after the pointless tinkering with the films for those "Special" Editions and all the signs pointing to even more tinkering for the DVDs, I'd reached the point of not caring if I got them or not. Then I received a $50 Wally World gift card, so I figure I can use that to get them without actually spending money. Yeah, Lucas will still get his share, but it won't be from my pocket.
As for the Netscape issues mentioned in a previous comment - I dunno. I'm still figuring out the ins and outs of this thing, but a quick download and run of Netscape didn't show me any obvious problems.
And I didn't make the ghost-hunting trip this year. Heard one ghost train, heard 'em all, I guess. Plus, ghosts or not, it's hard to get me enthusiastic for anything at three in the AM.
Ah well....time to play alarm clock.
