Greetings,

Ah...winter has finally arrived.
Snow.
I love it.

Those on Strike Team rotation in the affected areas
make sure you have arctic camoflage in your deployment
bags.

Sorry this is late. My (non-AOL) ISP has been giving me fits
about signing on in the evenings lately.

Later...

BBI Red Di responds:

I have a copy of the CD and will dupe a copy if you send me a tape and
return envelope with postage, or change for postage (I can get it stamped at
my office so no trip to the post office is necessary as long as I have $$ to
give the stamp guy). E-mail me at reddi68@hotmail.com if you need a taped
copy.

Happy trails, BBI Red Di

As most of you probably noticed (at least, I hope most of you did), there
hasn't been a segment of "Lock and Key" for awhile. Much as I hate to say
it, there may not be any more for some months.

The reason for this hiatus is essentially lack of concentration. This is
the result of two separate and opposing family issues we're presently
dealing with, one bad and one good.

The bad one is that we are expecting a call from my mother-in-law any day
now, asking us to come up to Minnesota to my father-in-law's funeral. He
was diagnosed with cancer some many months ago, and was not expected to
live this long; we are now to the point where changes can be seen on a
daily basis by even the most disinterested observer.

The good one is that it's just plain hard to concentrate on anything as
complicated as my story line once the baby starts kicking. Stomp and I
are expecting BBI Pandemonium to make his appearance in mid-April if the
calculations based on the ultrasounds are correct. We have his name
picked out already but are frantically scrambling to get the house
prepared, since we only had his existance confirmed about a week and a
half ago. My day job is fairly strange about how they handle the granting
and usage of both sick leave and vacation time, or we'd have seen a
doctor about this a good bit sooner, but at last check, things are
progressing as normally as they get with someone of my age. Needless to
say, I'm unavailable for field work for the next few months, but apart
from some wardrobe problems and the scramble to get baby things and a
place to put them lined up, Pandemonium hasn't given me anything close to
the kind of grief BBI Trouble gave his parents T-Bear and Lynx back in
1998. Though I personally feel we need to start doing a lot more
recruiting instead of all this growing them the hard way stuff...

Thanks for all the kind comments regarding the story, and I hope to be
back at it soon enough to have the thing finished by the end of 2000.

A sudden idea that hit me for no reason while going
through my daily sites. Buckaroo Banzai in White Wolf
Inc.'s World of Darkness. Could be a fun task if
anyone's interested.
Fight the good fight,

I was reading SFX magazine with an article about possible shows we may see in
the not too distant possible future. BB was mentioned as one such
possibility. Fantastic, I thought, because alot of people read this mag and
may not have been aware of this previously unthought of possibility. One can
only hope that other mags can fan the flames so awareness grows. Something
akin to the Battlestar Galactica push. The Richard Hatch push is getting some
great attention.
the only problem is however, would a new BB version please us die hards.
Would that chemistry be there? I can't help thinking that for every Stargate,
there is a Beyond Westworld or Lost In Space Cartoon Pilot.
It would be nice to trial things out with a comic book based on the movies
ideas, just like what we see in the movie! After all, we've seen plenty of
comic books based on SF media well after the original release. In fact,
that'd make an interesting list to compile for someone. Galactica, Lost In
Space, The Avengers, The Prisoner, Speed Racer, etc to name a few.
Well, I hope everyone made it safely into the new year, and I hope the great
BB returns to us somehow real soon!

Greetings all,

Well what to report on this week?
How about the GABBs. We set another new record for all at once
attendance last Saturday, very cool.
BBI Rally has set up an independent chat room at the 'in-the-works' web
site for the online BB con. Some testing has been done but it's not
quite ready for moving the GABBs there. For one thing I can't use it
without downloading some software for irc's. I'll have to get to that
sune.

Twice weekly GABB info. below.

BBcon registration is going will. There are still lots of you who
haven't bothered to come over and reg. yet. Why is that?

I still have Team Banzai Buttons that have not been spoken for.

Follow the link below for Team-Banzai.net and there you will find the
BBcon page.

About Team-Banzai.net: I have been able to look at the use of my site
and have concluded that the four most popular features you all like to
visit are; Club 88 and the Who's Who in the BBI' wall, The Zen
Reflection Pond, BBcon and The Flying Fish Gallery. I have also
discovered that many of my visitors are not being patient with the
second most popular page, The Pond. There is a sound file there that
does take approximately 1 to 2 minutes to download. It is the sounds of
the waterfall and wind chimes. PLEASE be patient when going to this page
as the experience of listening to the sound file and reading the Banzai
Haiku's and other thoughtful messages is well worth the time to
experience, believe it!

If you have missed out on the "adventure" going on over at the Official
site's Bunkhouse wall, you can find an up-to-date archive of the whole
story line. The adventure has just come to it's 5 week climax on Friday
and it's a long but interesting read. At Team-Banzai.net follow Out Of
The Blue> Fan fic> Mind's Eye Adventures> "Act 2 - Zhaolong Millennium".

A new feature at Team-Banzai.net (gee, how many times am I going to
mention the site?!?) is the 'Help with picking out a BBI nickname' page.
There I offer fans help with coming up with the 'all important' BBI
name.

New topic: Kefir - Okay after drinking the whole 32 oz. bottle I must
admit that the stuff was, well sour and so-so. It needed a lot of sweet
something, like Hershey's syrup to get past my lips.

A random novel quote: "In a kind of awed whisper, Tommy said, 'Getting
his guns? Holy cow.' "

GABB info: (full instructions at Team-Banzai.net)
We will be at: http://home.talkcity.com/

Wednesday January 26th, evening 6 PM PST/9 PM EST
and,
Saturday January 29th, morning 9 AM PST/12 PM EST

Once you get to the above site the instructions are:
Click on "chat" on the black strip near the top of the front page.
Then go to "If you already know the room you want to chat in?
Enter here:", type in "BUCKAROO" (all caps) and click on "Go!"
From there you'll have to type in a user name in the "not a member yet"
area.
This site won't like "BBI(space) your name" as a user name. So I suggest

that you use a "-" between "BBI" and your name (like "BBI-Dragon") or
just use your name alone. Some servers do not like the "-" between "BBI"

& name".
You'll just have to find out what works for you.
Then click on "chat".

Chats will last for around two hours.
All the information is at Team-Banzai.net including troubleshooting.
