I see that the world's journalists have declared that the world is safe due
to their ever vigilance of '' being on the scene'' and that Y2K was in some
small way deterred by their efforts..............
Well, we all know that it was entirely due to the vigilance and dedication of
Blue Blaze Irregulars worldwide that kept the lights on and YoYoDyne down,
don't we? LOL..........
Make this the best century ever for Buckaroo Banzai''ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quick exhortation. If you haven't seen Galaxy Quest yet you should.
It is hilarious. It's a combo SF spoof, Trekcon spoof, and slapstick action
adventure. Tim Allen is just hammy enough to pull off a thinly guised Bill
Shatner impression. While the rest of the crew aren't specific character
clones they will be vaguely familiar to all. The one liners alone were worth
the price of admission. It isn't BB against the World Crime League but it's
a good runner up.

Hello all,

I recently got a job working at Kohl's Department store in Greenwood
IN, and the song 'If I Don't Have You' came on over our store's speaker
system. A couple minutes into it a lady applied for a Kohl's charge card and
can you guess her name? Penny Priddy. I am completely serious. At first I
thought someone was playing a new years eve joke or something, but come to
find out she had no clue about the movie when I asked her about it later.
Funny coincidence huh? Just thought I would share...

Hey, Infinity here with yet another set of BB
references. First,(and this one's for the gamers over
at strike team Renegade) I just bought a copy of White
Wolf's "Bastet" Tribe book for the Werewolf series.
Under the merit "Culture Knack" the description reads
"Whereever you go, there you are." And, as an article
reference, this week's cinescape update features an
article on what should be done with the Star Trek
franchise, one of the suggestions being what the
author of the article calls a "Buckaroo Banzai esque"
series based on the time traveling starfleet of the
future featured in a few episodes of Deep Space Nine
and Voyager.
Well, that completes my required ramblings for
the time being.
Fight the good fight,
                                       BBI Infinity

I lent my copy of Buckaroo Bonzai to a friend and it disappeared. I
haven't been able to find a new one anywhere. Do you no where I could
get one?

Thanks a lot,
Glenna

Well I'm back!

Team-Banzai.net is back and better then ever. I've added a few new
features, added a few bells and whistles and added to the original
features. Please be my guest and check out Team-Banzai.net at:
http://www.team-banzai.net/

Abacus and I were out food shopping this afternoon and I ran into
something very interesting. In the ethnic deli section I came across a
dairy product called "Kefir". A spark went off and I picked up the
bottle. I found that the company had a web site and when I got home I
checked it out as well as my "Karakoumiss" page at "Team-Banzai.net".
Sure enough Kefir (pronounced Kef-FEER) is just another name for a
beverage that is very similar to the Karakoumiss that the Banzai
Institute favors as a drink, also called Koumiss. This product is
dissimilar from the Karakoumiss told about in "The Novel" in that its is
made from cow's milk rather than mare's milk (or camel). There is no
alcohol content to the Kefir that I found at this site and our local
grocery store, but add a little vodka, Everclear or rum/brandy and you
have an easy substitute.

Next time you are out shopping check out the refrigerated section of
health food and grocery stores and look for Life Way's Kefir in plastic
bottles.
Their web site is at: http://www.kefir.com/start.htm

This is not a recommendation or paid for advertisement for this product,
I just found something interesting and thought some of you die-hard
Banzai fans might like to try out this stuff.
(no, I didn't buy any yet, so I can't tell you how it tastes. I had to
check the site out first to see if my hunch was right. Now that I find
that it is I'm going back to buy some, I think I'll try the low fat
chocolate and the raspberry flavors first. It's said to taste like
liquid yogurt. I'll let you know next week.)

The GABBs or BB chats are going great. The last three have been very
will attended and we are having a lot of fun. Consider joining us some
Wednesday evening or Saturday morning, please. The usual information
will be below my post.

Also, I haven't mentioned it for a while but the BB e-mail community is
larger and better then ever. Sign up at:

A random novel quote, a foot note from page 134: "The survival
probability for Buckaroo Banzai in his attempt to pilot the Jet Car
through solid matter? Only 52%".

GABB info is avaliable at Team-Banzai.net in it's full form. Here are
the basics:
We will be at: http://home.talkcity.com/

Wednesday January 12th, evening 6 PM PST/9 PM EST
and,
Saturday January 15th, morning 9 AM PST/12 PM EST

Once you get to the above site the instructions are:
Click on "chat" on the black strip near the top of the front page.
Then go to "If you already know the room you want to chat in?
Enter here:", type in "BUCKAROO" (all caps) and click on "Go!"
From there you'll have to type in a user name in the "not a member yet"
area.
This site won't like "BBI(space) your name" as a user name. So I suggest
that you use a "-" between "BBI" and your name (like "BBI-Dragon") or
just use your name alone. Some servers do not like the "-" between "BBI"
& name".
You'll just have to find out what works for you.
Then click on "chat".

Chats will last for around two hours.
Drop in for a few minutes or stay for much longer, all are welcome.

Kefir Update: We were out on an errand and stopped by the grocery store
where I saw the Kefir. As it turns out they only had "plain" but I
bought a 32 oz. bottle anyway. At $2.99 for this I wondered if it was
going to be worth the price, but it's an experiment for Team Banzai so
what the heck! At home I got out the Hershey's syrup and poured a good
portion into a small glass. Then I opened the bottle of Kefir and shook
it. I poured it into the glass, it was thicker then I expected for a
"liquid yogurt". A spoon mixed the syrup in well and I drank. Not too
bad, yes liquid yogurt is a good description. It thins some with the
flavoring addition and the stirring. Even Abacus said it was okay. The
second glass was mixed with the chocolate syrup and some cheery syrup to
make a Black Forest version, it was even better.
In conclusion, it's a bit on the spendy side for a quart of semi liquid
yogurt, it has a lot more going for it then yogurt (more active
cultures) and with a sweet flavoring, if you like yogurt, it's
different.
