Greetings,

Busier than I expected for this time of year. That's
a pleasant surprise. Hope everyone makes it through
the next few weeks with a minimum of stress. Of
course, with the world ending the 31st, I guess there's
not much reason to get stressed. Not for long at least.

Later...

There is a billboard off 101 South in Marin County, just north of Mill
Valley, that says, "Wherever you go, there we are." I think it's a bank
advertising its ATMs.

Since Video Watchdog is going monthly with their January issue, there's
probably a good chance that Sean's article will show up after all. The
rumors are going around that MGM will release a special edition DVD by year's
end, especially if the FOX pilot gets picked up, and VWD will hopefully get
on the ball. I've emailed their editor Tim Lucas a couple of times and his
justification was that the video isn't in print anymore... but that didn't
stop him from printing a completely self-indulgent three-part retrospective
on idiot trash filmmaker Andy Milligan, none of whose movies are in print,
and whose work has practically zero public appeal. Go figure.

By the way, Sean's article is terrific. I hope it sees the light of day
soon.

Hi.

My name's Adam Ford. I'd like to be part of the 8th dimension.

I first saw Buckaroo Banzai when I was sixteen, in 1988, and didn't
think much of it. I think it was the outlandish title that drew me to
the film. Earlier this year I saw the film again. I hired it from my
local video store after visiting a few banzai pages on the web. I have
to say that I enjoyed it much more this time, being able to read
between the lines and work out what Earl MacRaunch was trying to do
with the character. I'm excited by the rumoured prospects of a regular
BB TV series, and would like to be kept up to date with any info that
is to be had. I'm also chasing a paperback copy of the novelisation
that isn't prohibitively expensive.

About me: I write (comics, short stories, novels, poetry) and work as
an editor at Lonely Planet, a travel guide publisher based in
Melbourne, Australia. My current novel-in-progress is a scifi
actionadventure idea factory, inspired partially by the character of
BB and partly by the Jerry Cornelius novels of Michael Moorcock. I had
a book of poetry commercially published last year and I dabble in
self-published comics.

there you go. that's me.

Well, my Irregular friends, I'd like to give a fantasic review to Billy
Vera's site. I've liked his music for awhile now, but it's been hard to get
much info as to what's going on. It's great to have a checklist of albums to
work from, and the number Billy has indirectly worked on is simply
staggering! I have one of the previous issue to thank for the address link.
Thanks!
Are there any suggestions for good sources of info for Ellen Barkin's
carreer. Seems it's getting near impossible to hear about her movies which
don't make it direct to cimema here in Australia. Any good suggestions?
Now, I apologise if this question has been brought up before, but, what is
the ettiquite for use of pictures and such in making a BB site. I've got some
great stills, but is there a proceedure to go through to use them? If I
wanted to quote script, is that different. I know those great site makers
before me can tell me what's cool or not.
Again, aplogies if the subject has been previously raised, but does the
soundtrack esist on CD by whatever means? Is it halfway decent quality, or is
it a falsehood? I know you guys out there will know.
Finally, is it me or does the guy from TV's Brimstone have an early Peter
Weller look about him, just with facial growth. Well, I think so anyway. See
you later!

Hi! On ebay I recently saw an official BB soundtrack!!! It had 11 songs
from the movie and also contained the soundtrack for Saturn3. The CD
had Buckaroo Banzai printed on it and underneath it said "Music by
Michael Boddicker" along with some other fine print that I couldnt read.
Do you have any knowledge of this cd?? I thought an official soundtrack
didn't exist?
Thanks for your reply ;-)
-Joe

**** There is no 'official' soundtrack. All are boots
of varying quality. Might as well just get it as MP3
files which can be found...well...see below. - ArcLight ****

Just wanted to inform all of the Irregulars out there that there is, or was,
a
reason to go to Dallas, Texas. In a 1/2 price bookstore I finally got a copy
of
the novel. So keep looking, everyone. If something this good can turn up in
Dallas, it can be anywhere. Saddle up!

Seasonings greetings,

BBI Abacus reports in that none other than Lord Whorfin (John Lithgow)
was seen and heard singing the national anthem at the Blazers vs. Lakers
game Friday night. He song it acappella to boot(e)!

The BB chats are going as usual, although a little light in attendance.
We have had a few new fans show up for a while as well as a few
"regulars". Drop by for a few minutes or longer, please.
We will be at : http://home.talkcity.com/
Wednesday December 8st, evening 6 PM PT/9 PM ET and,
Saturday December 11h, morning 9 AM PT/12 PM ET

There have been some fun updates to this site's chat rooms. There are
two formats that you can choose from. The new one is cool because you
can choose from a large range of colors for your posts as well as
include about 8 different smiley faces, you can bold, underline and
italicize text too. This makes the BB GABBs much more interesting.

This Saturday was our K-9 family member's 15th Birthday! Happy B-day
"Buckaroo"!!!

I think there is trouble stirring up again at the Official BB site's
Bunk House wall on that Siam character. Now there seems to be a Death
Dwarf that goes by "Dopplebock" making posts and that can't be good news
for the BBIs. Just what we all need at this time of year is another
incident like the one in Chicago a few months ago. Keep your eyes out,
posts are at: http://www.banzai-institute.com/5.html

My most profuse apologies to all those who have tried in vain to visit
"team-banzai.net" in the last two weeks. The only thing I can say is
that I do believe the wait will be worth while because of all the
updates I have. I too am frustrated. It's in the hands of the gods now.

The Deja newgroup for BB has been inundated with spam as of late. In
fact the "real" news posts have always been few and far between. Now
it's nothing but spam and personally I have taken myself off of that
newsgroup. For real, good old fashioned BB news and gossip, I highly
recommend the e-mail list over at Onelist, the URL is at the end of my
post here.

Be safe and drive sober folks, see you next week!

Always True Blue,
BBI Dragon
Random novel quote: Whorfin is on the phone with Xan while watching the
tv, "...he (Whorfin) watched Banzai poke at the apparently lifeless
object only to have the thing spring at him and go skittering across the
desert. Banzai in rapid pursuit.
"What am I watching?" demanded Lizardo, finding Xan still there.
"Do you see that mountain in the background?" Xan said.
"Yes."
"Banzai went through it."

Basic BB chat info:
Once you get to the above site the instructions are:
Click on "chat" on the black strip near the top of the front page.
Then go to "If you already know the room you want to chat in?
Enter here:", type in "BUCKAROO" (all caps) and click on "Go!"
From there you'll have to type in a user name in the "not a member yet"
area.
This site won't like "BBI(space) your name" as a user name. So I suggest

that you use a "-" between "BBI" and your name (like "BBI-Dragon") or
just use your name alone. Some servers do not like the "-" between "BBI"

& name".
You'll just have to find out what works for you.
Then click on "chat".

Chats will last for around two hours. Hope to see you there!
