From:	figment@figmentfly.com (Sean Murphy)

I've added a new Buckaroo Banzai article called Buckaroo Banzai : The
Resurrection of an American Hero By Sean R. Murphy to
http://www.figmentfly.com/bb/bbarticle.html.

This article describes the differences between the released version of
Buckaroo Banzai and the bootleg workprint and features a new interview with
director W.D. "Rick" Richter. There are also behind-the-scene photos
provided by Mr. Richter. Please let me know what you think of the article
at figment@figmentfly.com.

Some 6 or 7 weeks ago during the weekly GABB session I posed a question
to those
in attendance about the actor who played Masado Banzai in the flashback scene
from
the movie. We were all at a loss, but thanks to the new article by Sean
Murphy
(www.figmentfly.com/bb/bbarticle.html) we now know that the role was filled by
actor
James Saito. A quick search at the Internet Movie Database
(www.imdb.com)revealed
that we've been seeing him all over the place and not realizing
it. Some of his film credits
include Home Alone 3 (okay, maybe we didn't see that one), The
Devils Advocate,
Die Hard 3, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as the infamous
Shredder! He has also
logged a number of TV roles including several episodes of MASH, The A-Team,
McGuyver, Miami Vice, Hill Street Blues, Law & Order, and Star
Trek: Voyager. Just thought you might be interested.

Greetings, everyone!!! BBI Crazy Horse here, reporting in from the
Fabulous Florida Keys!!!!
The BB CON idea is great. Just remember that this is for ALL of us, so
ALL of us need to give our ideas on this project.
The only way this thing of ours can fail is by not doing it at all.
Just remember that the CON is for US, so WE must do something besides
sit back and wait for others to do it for us.
 Crazy Horse

**** Con? What Con? I hear some of you asking. Its an idea thats
been kicking around on the other mailing list and at the GABBs
and Dragons been running with it. An online BB con. Sound interesting?
Drop by a GABB, join the other list, or check out Dragons

http://www.team-banzai.net.

Things are in a *very* preliminary stage now, but any and all input
is welcome. - ArcLight ****

TABB has always been a frustrating movie to love because of the lack of its
merchandise. It'd be nice to have a cool Jetcar to stick on the bookcase; a
set of action figures to recreate the Artie's scene; all whilst playing the
vinyl soundtrack. Some genre fans such as Star Wars have it SOOO good!. So, I
agree with the philosophy of getting what there is because if someone was
willing to do a fan (or whatever) produced item, then they CARE enough to
realise it's satisfying a need that official channels don't want anymore.
It's not a big market but, it's there. Only thing is some of the prices: like
I saw the CD of the soundtrack for $50 on an online auction site. Mega-ouch,
more so when your exchange rate sucks big time.
It was the fan produced stuff that kept the hope alive for Trek in the 60s
and 70s. If fan fiction or a T-shirt keeps my dream alive then it's a small
price to pay. This is my BB WWW letter, and may there be more whilst I
continue to love this movie.

Downtown.
