Fox just knocked off Harsh Realm and Ryan Caulfield: Year
One. No announced replacements. All of a sudden, they have have
a beeeeeg hole in their Friday nights. Without wishing to indulge in
schadenfreude, we can hope the phones are ringing at the Institute.

Thanks to everyone who has sent me their locations for the BBI Deployment
Map. It's been only a small percentage of you so far, however.
(There's plenty of room on the map!) The site is coming along well
and should be up and running in a couple of weeks,
so e-mail me at riptide@utinet.net, worldwatchfiles@hotmail.com, or ring
my go-phone at ICQ #27088601 and I'll add you to the listing.
Thanks,
Riptide BBI #2708

I am in agreement with the sentiments displayed here in that as long as
there is NO legal alternative, we'll continue to make use of what illegal
ones there are. Should a legitimate, professional, quality version become
available in the future (ihopeihopeihope) then, even though I already own
the bootleg, I would HAPPILY shell out good money for the real one.

I would very much like to support Boddicker, et al, if only they would give
me a chance. Being a musician and songwriter/composer myself, I want the
money to go to the artist, but what can I do?

Having no record company myself, I give my music away for free in mp3
format (including the soundtrack I wrote to a film that fell through, but I
still own the music), because music is meant to be listened to. Art
perishes unseen!

The more attention we give this illegitimate music, the better chance Fox
might hire Michael Boddicker to do the score for the TV show too, and then
you can bet we'll see a product out soon afterwards.

Hey, anyone know what happened to Billy Vera (Pinky Caruther's) web site.
I stopped by to see if anything new was up and ... yikes... it is no more.

You might want to pick up one of his CDs (with the Beaters), he has two
releases. Both are fairly entertaining... if you like the Hong Kong Cavalier
type sound.

Ciao

(Oh, sorry if I mis-spelled anything.)

Hello everyone!

I'm going to start off with a few person opinions about this whole
bootleg/pirate thread with Buckaroo Banzai memorabilia. I don't feel
there is anything wrong with selling your stuff to the highest bidder.
The bidders make the price, if they don't want to pay the price they
don't have to.
Creating BB memorabilia for profit does go against my personal morals.
I'm not going to condemn those with different morals for doing just
that, making and selling BB stuff. I shake my head in shock when I see
the bidding on a BB cds, knowing full well that it can be downloaded for
free. But if people want to pay for what they can get for free, that's
their choice. That is assuming they know that there is a site to get the
cd for free. If they don't know about it, who's to blame? Only
themselves.
While on the subject, I must mention a mail order company that does
feature BB memorabilia. I will not mention their name. They do continue
to produce TABB merchandise and sell it on their web site with the
feeling that since no one will 'fess up to the rights, why not. Good
point. Personally, I won't produce and sell BB stuff. I have been
kicking around the idea of having Team Banzai buttons made up, a small
run. But that means coming up with the artwork and the money to do them,
then mailing them out to those interested, all at a "loss" to me
personally. Some would call that "stupid" when I could sell them. In the
long run, I'd rather be known as that "cool generous BBI" rather then
"that guy that makes money off of Banzai."

Riptide's BBI deployment map is a great idea. Get your e-mail off and
get on the map!!! riptide@utinet.net

Vic's (I thought you were going to be BBI Blotto?) fanfic of Xan
"Walking in the Hidden Way's" is an excellent short story and well worth
the read. http://www.members.tripod.com/wiznerowski/xan.html
I was even inspired by it enough to whip up a little piece on Xan. I do
take a 180 degree turn on Vic's p.o.v. and for that mater, everyone
else's view on this character, it is a hoot! See it on my website with
the next update. It's title is "It Sells Books."

This is your last chance before I update my site to get in your BBI
picture or soap box essay or short story. I'm shooting for next
weekend/early next week for the latest update with will include a new
Xmas/New Years Club 88 graphic and a 40%+ increase in the overall
website. I've been busy.

The GABBs (BB chat rooms) go on strong! Last Wednesdays was lively as

Chats will last for around two hours.
You are welcome to drop in for a few minutes or a few hours, believe it!
