BBI#415, Voodoo Klohn at yer service. Just been reading up on the
discussion re:downloadable goodies offa the net.

Ya know...it amazes me that the powers that be so often get upset
over a perceived bite into profits, while they in fact offer no
alternative, for which we would gladly pay. This goes for a bazillion
different items you can find on ebay and other auction sites.

It always reminds me of the cartoon of Ren and Stimpy, where the
character 'George Liquor' scares off R&S from picking through his
garbage. After the two scamper away, the shot comes in close on a
teary eyed George, who looks out at the viewers and says: "A man
works hard for his garbage."

In other words, it's worthless to him until it's worthwhile to
someone else.

So, I say, until they can figure out what to do about the
availability of TABB, copy away to your heart's content. The only
copy I have of TABB is from a cut rate Canadian operation called HGV.
I paid 10$ for it new about 6 years ago, and the reason it's so cheap
is that HGV dubs their vids on EP speed (BTW this is a legal release
of TABB). Still, a copy with packaging is better than none at all.
And I'll gladly pay for another, better copy when it's released.

that's it, signing off.....

Well, here's BBI Red Di's humble oh:

As long as whoever owns the rights refuses to do anything with them, then
they deserve to lose every penny they've been losing to "profiteers" such as
myself. I have sold a thing or two on eBay, with a low set price of $5 per
item (while I paid $20 for it from some shop in Tinsel Town), and if folks
want to bid themselves into a frenzy over it, I say, GO TO IT! I'm hardly
paying my rent by parting with a few items here and there, and I'm pretty
sure I'm not taking the food out of the creator's mouth, since he apparently
doesn't own any rights either. So either way, it's not exactly legal.

I was previously making copies of the soundtrack for anyone who wanted to
just cough up money for the tape and postage, but even this got to be a pain
in the arse, what with the post office and all. So I ceased doing this and
now I'm happy to see that it's out there for all to enjoy without having to
pay $80 like me to some scum-sucking convention dealer. Um, sorry to any
scum-sucking convention dealers who might be reading.

ON THE OTHER HAND: I heartily agree with you about the so-called "director's
cuts" which frankly don't exist, and I am always (I hope!) very clear in my
descriptions that this tape is a copy of a copy yada yada, and only
something a real big fan could bear to sit through. So I hope that my
actions in selling stuff here and there is excusable, since I like all of
y'all and would hate to be raising any ire out there. But ya know, cut me
some slack -- I'm barely making back what I paid for most of this stuff, and
it's sad enough having to part with it!

And on yet a totally different subject....If you're still out there and
still waiting for "The Whisper", there'll be some coming at ya mid-November.
I dropped out of college (long dull story) so I have more free time on my
hands.

Adieu.
BBI Red Di

Gentlemen:

Allow me to properly introduce myself. I'm responsible for Siam Candiru, and
now for the Hanoi Xan short story we've discussed, entitled "Walking in the
Hidden Ways." This story can be found at:

http://www.members.tripod.com/wiznerowski/xan.html

I've put a notification on the Bunkhouse Wall, and will next post the
One-List community. I'm unable to access the newsgroup, either because of
the firewall on this terminal here at work or because I don't know what I'm
doing. Either way I'm out of that loop.

Thanks again for the help and advice. It's a relief to see that the
standards set by Buckaroo Banzai are still alive and well out there!

Greetings all,

You know who your fellow BBI's are, but do you know where
they are? I'm in the process of developing a new website (which will hopefully
be up and running in a few
weeks) and have decided to add a deployment map showing the location of the
BBI's.
If you want to be included on the map just email me BC either at riptide@utinet.net or
at worldwatchfiles@hotmail.com and give me your BBI handle and
city/state location.
If you're a member of any local strike team you might want to include that
too.
It's that simple.

I am interested in obtaining a video of Buckaroo Banzai but haven't
located on. Can you help me find where I can purchase one? Any help
you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The last I heard, Polygram was going to do a DVD, then they got bought by
MGM and then MGM representatives said they were interested in doing a DVD.
I think everything is just in a holding pattern at the moment.

Actually, I will be posting the article to the Buckaroo Banzai FAQ in the
near future (hopefully in November). I'm waiting to get some never before
seen BB images to go with the article. Don't worry, I'll be sure to
announce it on all the various BB lists. :-)

It's great to be back home after my adventure in Chicago, believe it. If
you somehow missed it, go over to the Official BB site and see most of
it on the Bunk House wall.
I will also have the complete adventure at team-banzai.net on my next
update to the site. This collection at the web site will include
relevant posts from other sources as well as a recon picture of Siam and
his arrest record, all on cool background graphics. So stay tunes.

I wish to publicly thank BBI Crazy Horse for taking notes and a head
count at last Wednesdays GABB. It was very well attended and one notable
subject that came up was about doing an online BB convention. I've
decided to explore this idea with your help.
A BBcon, online- what would be a good name for it? "Buck-a-con"?
"Know-matter-where-you-go-con"? 8thDcon"?
Does anyone out there in Banzai land have contacts with any of the old
films crew, actors, or even "Big Name Fans"?
How about volunteering to help out? Planning and/or doing one hour
presentations in a chat room? Or a one hour guided discussion on a
favorite Banzai related subject? We can have an art show and down
loadable souvenirs at a companion web site. A dealers "room" is also
possible online. Hello Starland.

It's time go get involved!

Speaking of... either my email from http://www.team-banzai.net/ is being
diverted to one of those "adult" sites or I have a lot of fans going to
team-banzai.net and not e-mailing me about it!?! What's up!!!
This is YOUR site, please remember this when you go and visit. There
must be someone out there who doesn't have their own web site up and has
an interest in contributing to the BB cause. Got a favorite subject?
Hobby? Pet peeve? Write it down!
Let me know and believe it, I can find a way to loosely tie just about
anything into "Team Banzai", I have before!

Join the fun at one of the two weekly BB chat rooms. We get together
at: http://home.talkcity.com/

Wednesday October 27th, evening 6 PM PST/9 PM EST
and,
Saturday October 30th, morning 9 AM PST/12 PM EST
The rest of the info is at the bottom of this post or in a previous
issue of this newsletter.

Chats will last for around two hours.
You are welcome to drop in for a few minutes or a few hours, believe it!

Random novel quote: The groggy voice of John Bigboote' came on the line,
almost whining, it seemed to John Whorfin. "What's the matter, John
BigBoote'?" he said tersely.
"Did I take you from something important?"
"No, I was just getting some snooze."
"What kind of language is that?" Whorfin screamed.
"Snap to attention when I talk to you! I'll have your head! Prepare for
my return!"

GABB/chat room info: http://home.talkcity.com/
Once you get to the above site the instructions are:
Click on "chat" on the black strip near the top of the front page.
Then go to "If you already know the room you want to chat in?
Enter here:", type in "BUCKAROO" (all caps) and click on "Go!"
From there you'll have to type in a user name in the "not a member yet"
area.
This site won't like "BBI(space) your name" as a user name. So I suggest
that you use a "-" between "BBI" and your name (like "BBI-Dragon") or
just use your name alone. Some servers do not like the "-" between "BBI"
& name".
You'll just have to find out what works for you.
Then click on "chat".
