Greetings,

Hmm....short one this time around. Everyone starting to get ready for
Halloween?

Think the first round of the Sci-Fi Slugfest is still up at:
http://www.wizardworld.com/polling/scifi_stats/slugfest.html

One of the matches features BB, so get in there and vote if you feel
like it. *I* think he could take Qui-Gon. At the very least, its nice
they included him.

Life is doing its usual mucking about with things so Ill not be able
to hit any of the Saturday GABBs this month, but Ill try and slide
in Wednesdays for a bit.

So, has no one gone over to:

http://www.dailyscript.com/

and checked out the latest BB sequel script? Havent seen a peep about it
anywhere. Again, the language falls somewhat outside of the PG area
sometimes for those sensitive to such things.

Later...
ArcLight

Hi gang,
Well, this is my first post I guess. Nothing to big except for after 7
years of searching I lucked into a copy of BB. I went to get my haircut and
was told there would be a 30 minute wait. So I went to the video stores
right beside the haircutting place and found a copy on sale for 4.99. It
was the only copy too. Needless to say I have been watching it over and
over again since I got it. Well, that was my miracle for the year. Talk to
you all soon.

**** Glad to hear from you, and glad another copy of TABB was rescued
and is now in a loving home. My first copy was from the used bin of
a video store too, so keep an eye out, folks. - ArcLight ****

>>Any CD out there claiming to be the soundtrack is an illegal bootleg.

>Just a reminder - don't pay $$ for this, it's free on the web (even in
>MP3 format) http://www.cisf.com/banzai/ - username is MP3, password is
>Feeds - track listing at http://www.fortress.am/users/banzai/

A little more on this. Am I correct in understanding that, just because it is
free on the web, doesn't make it a "legal" copy? Apache, can you help
clarify?

**** My view is that since there is no legal, quality soundtrack
out there, Id just as soon download it free as pay some bootlegger
$20-40 and up for a copy. I long for the day I can pay CDNow
$15 or so for a legit recording but until then... - ArcLight ****

Buckaroo's comment about no feet would be more like:
"I met a man with no feet, so I invented some for him."....

Also, please don't take my comment last time about ''give it a shot'' literally......
lol...I know we have had some controversy on the subject of BB and bullet
launchers....

I finally decided to get out all the old models from the attic and found some
from the 60s up.....of course, there are lots of parts...and the idea about building
a BB jet car sounds very intriguing.....as does building the motor coach, and why
stop there....I could build a BB jet, and also a motorcycle (Harley parts of course)
...and even a BB secret hideout/cave....I mean why stop there, why not build the
whole 8th dimension!!!!!!! HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH
oh, sorry....where's my twinkies.......

I have started construction of the BB jetcar....using parts for a mainly 1/24 scale
machine, maybe reduced down to 1/48...and kitbashing it....really looking good..
wait a minute, there's some guys in black suits at the door and .....................
end of transmission............

Greetings all!

"My own web page?" How would you like to have your own web page at
http://www.team-banzai.net/? Well you can! That's the kind of BB site it is,
believe it! Just contact me and we'll discuss details. It's easy, fun and you
will be the envy of all the other fans and BBIs!

GABB drawing for The Jet Car Illusion toy or the 2 part BB comic. Remember
that you only have to make it to one session for one hour, not any more then
that. Look at the names of the BBIs who have qualified from the last 2 GABBs!
BBI Sabre, Texas, Riptide, Dragonstears, Crazy Horse and Gumball !!!
Last Wednesday's GABB went for 2 hours 45 minutes with 7 at a time, a very
lively chat. Oddly, Saturday's GABB was only lightly attended by 5 BBIs with
only 3 of us at a time chatting. It was still a fun time. BBI Sharkey and
Gumball attended, a rarity indeed. Good to see you both again! More details
at the bottom of my weekly post on how you can join the BB chats/GABBs.

Oh, and remember these GABBs are not just about BB, they are about us, the
fans. So come and get to know your fellow BBIs a little better!

Okay, a little back peddling here, how many of you have found the "sekrit
page" hidden at http://www.team-banzai.net/? It's a really cool
pre-production picture of Peter Weller and John Lithgow but you will have to
find the link on your own, I'm not going to tell you where it is. So go visit
again if you already have and try to find the sekrit page!
I'm also eager to have BBI pictures for the Who's Who in the BBIs wall.

Well, catch you all next week and I really hope to see some of you at one of
the BB chats "reel sune"!

Always True Blue,
BBI Dragon

A random novel quote: Just before going on stage at Arties Artery the gang
are discussing what they had looked at on the spectroscopic slide.
Perfect Tommy: "Is it alive or dead? That would seem to be the key question."
Reno: "Obviously it's alive-if it's growing."
Rawhide: "Not necessarily. Crystals grow in inorganic chemical reactions. You
can't say they're alive."
Reno: "You have a point. On the other hand-what is life?"
Perfect Tommy: "On the other hand, those were like no crystals I've ever seen
on the slide. Without even being able to identify the compound, I'd say this
conversation is pointless."
Buckaroo Banzai: "Right, let's keep our minds on music."

GABB (Gathering All Blue Blazes) drawing!!!
I'm offering a contest for anyone who comes to any one of the GABBs in the
next week! Here are the guidelines; You must show up at one of the chat rooms
this coming Wednesdays or Saturdays, October 13th or 16th and stay for one
hour minimum. You also must participate in the chat, you can't just lurk.
That's one session for one hour minimum, once. You are welcome to stay longer
or come to more then one of the GABBs. You do not have to come to all of
them. All those who wish to be entered and fulfill the guidelines above will
have their names tossed into a hat and BBI Abacus will draw one name. I am
going to offer either the Jet Car Illusion toy or the 2 part Marvel comic of
TABB (winner's choice) as the prize.

We will be at: http://home.talkcity.com/

Wednesday October 13th, evening 6 PM PST/9 PM EST
and,
Saturday October 16th, morning 9 AM PST/12 PM EST

Once you get to the above site the instructions are:
Click on "chat" on the black strip near the top of the front page.
Then go to "If you already know the room you want to chat in?
Enter here:", type in "BUCKAROO" (all caps) and click on "Go!"
From there you'll have to type in a user name in the "not a member yet" area.
This site won't like "BBI(space) your name" as a user name. So I suggest that
you use a "-" between "BBI" and your name (like "BBI-Dragon") or just use
your name alone. Some servers do not like the "-" between "BBI" & name".
You'll just have to find out what works for you.
Then click on "chat".

Chats will last for around two hours.

This following information comes from BBI Earth2Kim and is for those who have
computer trouble with any Java but would like to join in on the GABBs/chats.
TalkCity is accessible through both the web (as we've been using) and IRC
(short for Internet Relay Chat). For those of you who can't get the Java to
work with your browser, try searching Yahoo for a free IRC client (Like mIRC,
IRCle, Global Chat, etc. There are a lot), download that, then do the
following to get into chat: Connect to server chat.talkcity.com then type:
/join BUCKAROO BANZAI and you should be in. Each IRC client differs from each
other, but all should be straightforward on how to change servers, create
nicknames, and get in rooms.

Regarding the BB GABBs/chat rooms:
It has come to my attention that a few people are having trouble finding
and entering the BB chats. One trick seems to be to instead of entering
the name of the chat room you wish to join (BUCKAROO), try to "create
your own chat room" using "BUCKAROO" as the name and that should get you into
the existing room if one is already up and running.

"Freeze up" This is a problem that I myself some times have with the chat
room at TalkCity. Basically what happens is that the screen freezes up for
periods of time ranging from 45 seconds to several minutes. Then you get a
flood of posts and you can post until the freeze up occurs again. My
suggestion for this problem is to first, don't try to run other applications
while in the chat room. Even checking email has seemingly caused this problem
with myself. To fix the problem I have had luck leaving the TalkCity site
(when I'm "unfrozen") and then go back and re-log in to the BUCKAROO chat
room. On occasion I have had the freeze up problem so bad that I've had to
shut off the power to my computer and restart, then get back online and go
back to TalkCity. The problem usually doesn't come back after doing this
extreme "fix".
So, 're you comin'?
