Greetings,

Anyone get any odd email from someone at pdqnet.net? If you did, youll
know what Im talking about, and if you didnt, no big.

Hope all are well. Looks like the floodwaters might *finally* be receding
from the places hit. Some of the pics from where I spent most of my time
growing up...spooky.

If you aint done it yet, check out Dragons site. Looking good.

Watching Clancy in one of his many non-Rawhide-like roles now.
Shoot to Kill - good movie.

Wish more folks could make it to the GABBs. They can be pretty interesting.

Where the heck did this weekend go, anyway?

Later...
ArcLight

Has anyone heard ANY news about a BB DVD or video release? There was some
discussion earlier in the year about this and it's sort of died out. As
Warner now has the rights to any MGM films (they own the rights from Credit
Lyonnaise, right?) released before 1985 (I think), I'm curious if they'll
pick up the mantle or (as usual) drop the ball.

I emailed Tim Lucas at Video Watchdog about Sean's BB article and he said
they've declined to do it due to BB's unavailability. While I'm sympathetic
to Tim's point, I find it hard to believe that a magazine which can feature
bottom-of-the-barrel schlockmeister Andy Milligan on the cover wouldn't
showcase a film with such a devoted following such as BB. Go figure. Sean,
are you going to post this on your web site or send this to another magazine?

Found a Banzai reference in a book called Nightfeeder by Judith and Garfield
Reeves-Stevens. On page 180, one of the characters suggests (in jest) calling
the
Blue Blaze Irregulars.

Greetings from the Fabulous Florida Keys!.
 BBI Crazy Horse reporting in.
Well, the storm season for all of us on the east coast seems to be
over. About time.
I hope to see more of you at the weekly GABBS. I can't understand why
more of you don't show up. It is FUN!!!! Create your own topic! Talk,
talk, talk!!! Just show up. You will not be disappointed!!!! Money back
guarantee if not 100 percent damned happy!!!!!
Here is an old quote that I like a lot. I'm sure Buckaroo lives by it;
"I used to cry about not having any shoes to wear. Then one day I met a
man who had no feet."

Hello fellow BBI's,

The Jet Car Project
I'm going to address "dkiklis" (got a BBI name yet?) on the Jet Car
model issue first off. I did a little bit of research on my own some
time back including picking the brain cells of the BB email list
members.
It seems that the Jet Car was an early 80's Ford F350 because of the
duel back wheels, most likely '82 or '83.
For a look at a '81 Ford 350 take a look at :
http://www.ford-trucks.com/pictorial/big/1981_f350_1.html
Sure looks like the start of a Jet Car to me.
I hunted around at local hobby stores and on the net with no luck coming
up with any early '80's Ford F350s. Maybe you will have better luck. I
was even considering doing a "modern" late '90s Jet Car because you can
get those plastic model kits everywhere.

As for the jet engine it's self, I'm only guessing here on this one. But
from my checking into "reel" jet cars it seem that the J-79 or GE J79
turbo jet engine from the following jets is used most often. The A-5
military planes, the F-104A Star Fighter, the B-58 Hustler and the F-4
Phantom Fighter.
The problem I ran into with plastic model kits is that where trucks come
in 1/24 or 1/25 scale, planes come in 1/48 or 1/72 scale, so the engine
would be the wrong size. All you would really need though is an end
"cone" anyway.

As for good stills of the Jet Car I suggest the Official site at
:http://www.banzai-institute.com/0.html in the "Archives", you will have
to gain access on your own. No Lectroids allowed!
Also at Rafterman's site at:
http://lavender.fortunecity.com/halloween/161/engineer.htm

That's just about all I have on the Jet Car. If you have any luck with
this idea of yours and get a Jet Car model finished, send me a picture
and I'll put it up on my web site!

Now speaking of the new BB web site...
A few things said about it are: "I'm impressed with your work.", "VERY
cool site!" and "Beyond cool, great stuff Dragon!"
Your Blue Blaze Irregular site is at: http://www.team-banzai.net/ please
consider this "THE" site for the Blue Blaze Irregular (no offense
intended to the other BB Webring members).
I was having trouble with some of the links but that has all been fixed
now.
You can contribute to this web site, just go and check out what it has
to offer and you will get the idea that this site is for you the fans.
There are many ways that you can become involved, from having your
picture posted on the Who's Who in the BBIs wall to writing a soapbox
essay on a favorite topic (doesn't have to be Banzai related) to having
drawings or puzzles or what have you published in the online fanzine Out
Of The Blue (Blaze Irregulars), catchy name isn't it!

The BB chats/GABBs are going strong every Wednesday evening and Saturday
morning and we have a regular showing of Irregulars including BBIs Crazy
Horse, ArcLight, RallyV, Dragonstear, "Ed", Earth2Kim and last Saturday
Sharkey finally made it in too. There are many others who show up in an
irregular bases as well.

GABB (Gathering All Blue Blazes) Contest!!!
(oh no, look out Dragon is doing it again!)
I'm offering a contest for anyone who comes to the GABBs in the next 2
weeks! Here are the guidelines; You must show up at the chat room these
coming Wednesdays or Saturdays, Oct. 6th, 9th, 13th or 16th and stay for
one hour minimum. You also must participate in the chat, you can't just
lurk.
All those who wish to be entered and fulfill the guidelines above will
have their names tossed into a hat and BBI Abacus will draw one name. I
am going to offer either the Jet Car Illusion toy or the 2 part Marvel
comic of TABB (winner's choice) as the prize. Further details of the
GABBs at the bottom of my weekly post. Hope to see you there!

There are a lot of you who still haven't signed up on the BB email list.
Everyone on it does get a timely reminder of the GABBs as well as having
the opportunity to receive messages from fellow fans. At my last check,
there were just short of 100 fans signed up for the BB email list. So
what are you waiting for?

to get involved!!!

Random novel quote: Reno is writing about the 8th Dimension: "From this
void of brilliant colors came the despairing screams of the damned,
captive monstrosities that defied belief, much less description."

GABB information:
We will be at: http://home.talkcity.com/

Wednesday October 6th, evening 6 PM PST/9 PM EST
Saturday October 9th, morning 9 AM PST/12 PM EST
Wednesday October 13th, evening 6 PM PST/9 PM EST
and,
Saturday October 16th, morning 9 AM PST/12 PM EST

Once you get to the above site the instructions are:
Click on "chat" on the black strip near the top of the front page.
Then go to "If you already know the room you want to chat in?
Enter here:", type in "BUCKAROO" (all caps) and click on "Go!"
From there you'll have to type in a user name in the "not a member yet"
area.
This site won't like "BBI(space) your name" as a user name. So I suggest
that you use a "-" between "BBI" and your name (like "BBI-Dragon") or
just use your name alone. Some servers do not like the "-" between "BBI"
& name".
You'll just have to find out what works for you.
Then click on "chat".

Chats will last for around two hours but often go for longer.

This following information comes from BBI Earth2Kim and is for those who
have computer trouble with any Java but would like to join in on the
GABBs/chats. TalkCity is accessible through both the web (as we've been
using) and IRC
(short for Internet Relay Chat). For those of you who can't get the Java
to work with your browser, try searching Yahoo for a free IRC client
(Like mIRC, IRCle, Global Chat, etc. There are a lot), download that,
then do the following to get into chat: Connect to server
chat.talkcity.com then type: /join BUCKAROO BANZAI and you should be in.
Each IRC client differs from each other, but all should be
straightforward on how to change servers, create nicknames, and get in
rooms.

Regarding the BB GABBs/chat rooms:
It has come to my attention that a few people are having trouble finding

and entering the BB chats. One trick seems to be to instead of entering

the name of the chat room you wish to join (BUCKAROO), try to "create
your own chat room" using "BUCKAROO" as the name and that should get you
into the existing room if one is already up and running.

"Freeze up" This is a problem that I myself some times have with the
chat room at TalkCity. Basically what happens is that the screen freezes
up for periods of time ranging from 45 seconds to several minutes. Then
you get a flood of posts and you can post until the freeze up occurs
again. My suggestion for this problem is to first, don't try to run
other applications while in the chat room. Even checking email has
seemingly caused this problem with myself. To fix the problem I have had
luck leaving the TalkCity site (when I'm "unfrozen") and then go back
and re-log in to the BUCKAROO chat room. On occasion I have had the
freeze up problem so bad that I've had to shut off the power to my
computer and restart, then get back online and go back to TalkCity. The
problem usually doesn't come back after doing this extreme "fix".
