Greetings,

Just a reminder; anyone with a BB-related site (or a BB-related
section on a site) needs to hook up on the WebRing. If your page
isn't BB-related, I'll gladly add it to the Link page.

Also, don't forget about the new newsgroup, alt.fan.buckaroo-banzai.
If your provider doesn't carry it yet (this means us, AOL people),
let them know you want it.

Usually, the holidays quieten the List down a bit, so don't worry
if it comes more irregularly than usual until after the first of the
year.

Best I remember, Comedy Central is showing the Film a time or two
next month.

I've renamed the Zip files of the previous issues, which shouldn't
be a big deal unless you try and download the new Zip file of the
first issue of the original paper newsletter into the same directory.
Yes, that's right, the December 1985 issue (technically, a supplement)
is now available online. Not the greatest scans, but plenty readable
and I wanted to get it out there. Hopefully, the rest of them will
follow with some degree of regularity.

Take care, and remember, there can be only one.
(whoops!! wrong fandom. sorry)

So, all is well for the Holidays I hope for those who are
BBIrregulars...Take time to reflect upon the meaning of the season...and to
remember those less fortunate...especially disabled veterans who spend many
holidays confined to VA hospitals (which by the way do resemble in some
quarters, the YoYoDyne facilities).
As far as Christmas gifts go, (and for the lady who was looking for BB video
for her husband), go to your local video store and look at the videos on
sale...I found my BB video there, for $6.95.
	Remember peace.
Jim, Call sign Banzai.
PS, the person who is in Canada and discovered Penny, etc...keep us
informed...you never know...lol.

This is very cool - but I would like to mention to those that may not
know this that "Greatest Science Fiction Hits IV" is all *covers* of the
original themes as performed by Neil Norman and his 65 piece orchestra.
The collection does not contain the original recordings of the themes.

** True enough. Should've pointed that out. Sorry. - ArcLight **

Giving thought to another BB film, I must submit another actor for the lead
role. From my viewpoint, there is one "chameleon" who is suited for the
role: David Bowie. Penny would be done well through the talents of Helen
Hunt,

Lydia D-D

** Interesting choice. Age would probably be a factor (this is FOX, after all)
just like it would be with most of the original cast, who I'd still love
to see in BBAWCL, no matter what happens with FOX TV. While it's
still way early for the execs to be thinking about casting, we're
certainly entitled to. - ArcLight **

Many thanks to those who informed me about the Jet Car plates - it seems
that ROCKIT88 was on the jet car, while "HB 88" was used to refer to the
test run.

My state only allows up to 6 characters for plates, so I went ahead and
request HB88 - I think they'll still be cool plates to have :-)

I don't know about the cast. But they still look like they're in top shape
to resume their characters. However I've been thinkin about Robert John
Burke (Simple Men,Thinner) as Buckaroo Banzai. As a plus he already
succeeded Peter weller as RoboCop. Any thoughts?

Subj: The Heavenly Kid
Date:	11/24/98 3:35:27 PM Eastern Standard Time
From:	camelot@amigo.net (Scott Tate)

Just thought I'd mention this to anyone in need of a Perfect Tommy
fix... Last night I was flipping channels and ran across a movie
starring Lewis Smith. The Heavenly Kid (1985) is the story of a 1960s
teen (Smith) whose tough-guy attitude quickly gets him killed. In the
afterlife, he finds himself re-assigned back to Earth in the 1980s as a
guardian angel to another teen. This kid initially needs help
overcoming his awkwardness, but he takes his new role model's
inspiration too far and starts making the same mistakes the angel did in
life. By my reckoning, it's not a great movie -- both "divine
intervention" and "teen angst" have been done far better in plenty of
other films -- but it's not awful. If you're a Lewis Smith fan and are
looking for some low-level fun to fill an hour and a half, check it
out. (And by the way, for any Tommy-oriented BBIs out there looking for
a handle, "The Heavenly Kid" might not be a bad idea...)

From:	buckaroo@jane.penn.com (Patrick Shaffer)

1999 will be a some what busy year for the TABB cast and crew
Starting with Peter Weller next year will see a new sub genre of
action films Death Wish meets Die Hard in Diplomatic Seige from
information on this movie it seems Peter will not be doing any
dammage to any bad guys. Everybody's Favorite Eye-talian Pyscho John
Lithgow besides his weekly job as a visiting alien on his NBC comedy
will be in Portofino and maybe putting down voice tracks for the
animated feature Shrek for 2000. Ellen Barkin is going to have three
movies for the comming year with White River Kid, a small reunion
with Jeff Goldblum in Popcorn and Dairy Queens a movie with some real
life plot lines. while not being the most Favorite John but the most
quoted Christopher Llyod has 9 movies slated for 1999 release dealing
with Ghosts to Militia's to biographys to looking glasses My picks of
the nine movies are The Man on the Moon based on some what real life
events in the life of Andy Kaughman, My Favorite Martian where Chris
teams with Dumb and Dumber star Jeff Daniels to replace Bill Bixby
and Ray Walston in this big screen remake of the classic tv series.
and the TV all star version Alice in Wonderland. also on the YPS crew
Vincent Schiavelli is slated to be in The Prince and the Surfer
<serf's up!> and Inferno which is slated to have Jean-Claude Van
Damme in it as well. Dan Hedaya is working on what could be two
sleeper hits. the first is Dick where He plays Tricky Dick Richard
Nixon where two girls get to run around the White House while
skipping out of the tour and running in to Dick. Also he's slated for
The Extreme Advetures of Super Dave Osborne which unless Changed will
have a 1 week run debuting on the 14th of May in which it could run
rampant before hitting the stone wall known as Episode 1. Bill
Henderson who played Casper Lindley whill be in Goat on Fire and
Smiling Fish <don't ask me I just report it> or Favorite Scribe Earl
besides duties related with the TV pilot will be working on Deja Vu
which is good news for the French and sad news for us. Chrisopher
Lambert will be making Highlander 4 the search for Connor <for some
reason I get this nagging feeling of a lawsuit from Paramount over
plot lines on this.> and Resurection. and fellow Highlander Alum and
one of the five actors to protray England and Ian Flemming's most
famous spy Sean Connery will be doing something other then collecting
Royalties from MGM when he appears in Entrapment.
Fanatic predictions for 1999 in the cinemas
If you don't have it out before the 21st of May and it's not Star
Wars it's gonna be DEAD unless it's got something people like. The
Big Winners Star Wars why? simple as 4 words Directed By George
Lucas.
Inspector Gadget why Ferris Bueller and a semi-classic cartoon =
money. The Wild Wild West even Bill Clinton and Bill Carter could
figure this one out Will Smith, famous TV show, America's birthday
equals one thing.. Huge assed Checks. Austin Powers 2 even thou it's
release date is in the shadow of Episode one it may suprise and rout
George's 3 week lead in the box office. Also a tid bit of Info in
1983 Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis wrote and Directed the Adventures
of Bob and Doug Mackenzie AKA Strange Brew which from what IMDB is
indicating in 1999 16 years later Will be getting a sequel currently
titled Strange Brew 2. It took 15 years for Snake Pliskin to reappear
from the Bowels of John Carpenter's mind. and from the amount of Bob
and Doug Molson commercials it was a nobrainer that this might be
happening. Now Being that 2000 is the 16 anniversery of TABB's
release and with the latest info on DVD and the TV pilot could BBAWCL
be made for summer release in 2000? time will tell all. DVD note I
saw a copy of Robocop on DVD it was labled ast being Officially
approved by the director and being Uncut and unrated.
till next time with Movies and other info
this is Fanatic have fun at the movies!
and one more piece of useless info in the November of this Years
issue of Car Craft Magazine on Page 14 on the upper left corner is a
picture of my dad's Z-28 which I took the picture of and was
submitted and used.
that's that RNWYGTYA
