Greetings,

Happy New Years and such.
Hope everyones got to see the new Godzilla commercial by now.
(Well, Im excited about the film at least.)
A short one this time around. Slow as usual around the holidays.
Welcome to the new folks as always. Glad to have you aboard.
Dont be shy. We welcome thoughts, stories, annecdotes, any
artwork you may want to send to be posted on the WWOL page,
links to new BB pages, links to personal non-BB pages...
Send it all to me at the wwatchone@aol.com address and well
come up with something to do with it.
Dont think Ive drawn attention to the web pages listed up above in
awhile, so quick; take a look. Ill wait. Always looking for more info
for the FAQ and such.

TABB has popped up again recently in Alt.Fan.Doc-Savage as being a
great example of what Doc and his gang would possibly operate like in
todays world.

Oh...and thanks for not busting my chops for misspelling the title of
this thing in the Subject line last time. Sheesh!

Later...

Subj: obtaining a copy of THE MOVIE!

I have been searching for a copy (new, used, pirated, bootlegged, SP, SLP,
EP) for about a year now.
All the video superstores and outlets cannot help. All I keep hearing is
that THE MOVIE is out of print or in a place called moritorium. If anyone
can help with a source for purchase (I would really like to buy an
authorized, official, and legal-the-proceeds-go-to-
the-creators-and-others-who-should-get-something-from-this-great-movie),
please send a message to HERBNHON@SPRYNET.COM. It's really kind
of ironic that every place that I've asked about this movie, they all have heard
about it and think it's great, but can't tell me where to find a copy. Why
is it out of print?

I am also interested in any ideas for sources of BB memorabilia,
especially original posters or (gasp) any props from the original
movie, promotional stuff, etc.

Anyone?

Happy Holidays to everyone -

Last month I posted a message to the effect that I had a copy of the
Buckaroo Banzai novel up for grabs... I got about a zillion offers, which
would have been great if I'd had a zillion copies...
So here's the deal - a friend of mine has allowed me to photocopy his
already falling apart Buckaroo Banzai novel; anybody who wants to read the
book and isn't as crazy about owning a copy (or just can't find one) send me
ten bucks and I'll send you a complete photocopy of the book. This isn't
intended to reap huge profits or anything, just to cover the costs of
copying and shipping and standing around waiting for copy machines (and
maybe to reimburse me for the embarrassment of getting tossed out of a
couple of places for copying a book... touchy touchy)... Anyway, I know it's
copyrighted material, but I also know how difficult it is to find and how
many others are as frustrated as I was looking for it... this seems like a
viable solution until some book company gets the brainpower together to
organize a reprint. Feel free to e-mail if you have a question...

I created a Clancy Brown (Rawhide, Kurgan) mailing list so
if you would like to join, please send an email to:

majordomo@stargame.dyn.ml.org

with SUBSCRIBE CLANCYBROWN in the subject.

It's just getting started, so its a bit slow on there right now.

About BUCKAROO BANZAI

These are just little trivia droppings...
little obscure bits of information from various sources.
Most of these are true... I forget which one's aren't...
If anybody has any questions or comments, please drop me
a note at CVDrake@aol.com. I can't guarantee I'll respond right
away, but I'll do my best.

Filming "the Shock Tower" scene was apparently a riot for everyone. Both
Peter Weller and John Lithgow have commented that they almost "lost it"
during its filming. Peter once told me that between Christopher Lloyd
munching on Fritos and shouting "BigbooTE!" and Lithgow threatening
Buckaroo's auditory artus... he said "I'd laugh so hard, that I'd fall out of
frame!" Lithgow was not immune to the humor of the moment, either. In fact,
he has pointed out the had to turn away from the camera to hide the fact that
he was about to burst into laughter. Watch him carefully after he says "More
power to him."

A line that fades out too fast to hear (that is mildly amusing) is after the
Yoyodyne's Lectroids appear on the site of the crashed Thermopod. When
Bigboote mentions the "droid" as he and the officer walk away, what the
officer says (in its entirety) is: "Doesn't look like anything I've seen
before... I mean, I've seen droids in space movies, but nothing like this
stuff!"

The same electronic panels that are behind Peter Weller when he's taking off
the weird "bubble wrap" glasses after watching John Emdall's Yellow Record
speech also appear with Peter in "RoboCop." Watch for the same panels when
Robo downloads a picture of Clarence Boddicker (no relation to "Banzai" score
composer Michael Boddicker) from the Police library computer.
