Greetings,

More additions to the page. The 'Stuff' page finally
has some stuff on it. See what Banzai stuff is out
there and some ideas on how to get it. Also, it'll be
a way for fans to check out some of the stranger
stuff on eBay to see if it's legit or not. Plenty
of fan-made stuff popping up, with sellers at best
being 'unsure' of its origins. Like a Lizardo watch
I just saw today. Or the Banzai Institute wall clocks
that popped up awhile back and the belt buckles
Starland is selling. All fan-made.

Also some new pics, mainly of the postcard series.

Later...

Hey.
Had a good Buckaroo week recently. Got a copy of the soundtrack from BBI Red
Di. Good quality and I am really enjoying it. Thanks Red Di! I also got my
Team Banzai button from BBI Dragon. Very cool.

Then my search for a replacement Buckaroo poster (mine was destroyed in a
flood:( ) seemed to be meeting with success when BBI Dragon turned me onto
one being auctioned on ebay. He tried to warn me about sitting in on the
auction at the last minute to outbid anyone else but I didn't listen. I went
a week with mine being the highest bidder so I thought I was safe. NOT. At
the last minute someone out bid me. I was not a happy BBI.

I would love to get a copy of the poster if anyone knows of any for sale.
Also, a copy of the novel (even a photocopy...if they can bootleg videos and
sound, why not printed matter...until its all for sale legally of course!)

BTW - Peter Weller was rude to me at Sundance film festival this year. A
high point for me (better even than having Michael Dorn smile at me...ah my
brushes with the rich and famous!)

BBI Stardancer

**** For the poster, use search engines and look for a shop on the
web. I know they're out there because that's where I got some of my
pics of the posters for the site. Works with the book, too, but
dealers seem to want at least $50 for it. With patience, you can
probably get it for less on an auction site. There seems to be no
shortage of listings for them. - ArcLight ****

Good morning everybody, hope everybody that went out to yesterday's
celebrations made it home alright,
Last Night I went and saw the new movie Gladiator by Ridely Scott.
it's not your average action movie at all.
the battle sequences just are run at full speed or just a tad below Jackie
Chan Speed.
The locations just look well great.
the special effects are 50% better then Episode 1's set of special effects.
the cast is pretty good, so is the story.
on a rating scale of 1 to 5 strike teams with 5 being the best. (Survey
SAYS!)
5 Strike Teams.
it's just soo well 'badass',
one thing to look for, look for an action movie cliche` cameo by an actor
who's in alot of action movies in this.
it's worth 7 bucks to see it.
See everybody tommarow night at the gabb.

with BBIs Dragon & Crazy Horse

A follow-up on an item we discussed from last week. It was that Banzai
T-shirt that looked like the video box cover. The high bidder was kind
enough to reply back with:

Hi,
I got the T-shirt today. It is basically an iron-on the size of the
video box, of the cover of the video box. It's a little less
professional than I expected (but it is not a licensed product) but
still clean lines and nice looking.

cheers,
the high bidder

A Banzai Tape, by any other name...

Crazy Horse: Look, there's a copy of TABB currently going for $63!!!!!!
It's listed under "Buckaroo BONZAI." I don't know why the misspelling of
the name, but it's there. And I definitely do not understand the
price!!!

Dragon: I don't understand the bidding on this one either. Granted it is
the VESTRON video which is better quality then the Video Treasures
version, but really! And did you catch that descriptive note about the
"jet-propelled Ford Fiesta"!?!?! Now I have to look up Ford Fiestas...
always thought the Jet Car was a Ford F350. Also noticed that a bunch of
the bidders are first timers with a zero feedback rating. I wonder
what's up with that. Let's keep an eye on this one.

Crazy Horse: I don't understand the high bids on that "Bonzai" tape
either, unless there are some BB fans who don't know how to spell!!!!!

This tape's high bidder spent $101 for this misspelled auction.

-----

I thought it was going to be a boring week at the auctions... until I
checked this afternoon and found a bunch of newly listed items all from
the same collector.

Banzai Mug

It's another case of, "it's sort of Banzai so I'll sell it for a really
high price at ebay because those silly BB fans will buy anything..."

This time it's: "Buckaroo Banzai Quote MUG VeRy RaRe BANZAI", the
starting bid is at $24.99 and after you've looked at the item more
closely that it's actually a, "Banzai Related MUG" that was made back in
the mid '80s by Shoebox Greetings. This mug reads: "Thought for the day:
No Matter Where You Go, There You Are." The seller admits that it "is
not an official product..." but was bought by a fan and added to their
collection.

Crazy Horse: I, too, thought it was going to be a slow one at ebay. The
mug is ridiculous!!! Just another example of the "label it as BANZAI and
sell it" mentality that seems to be gaining popularity.

Dragon: You know, I vaguely remember hearing about those mugs back in
the mid/late '80s but was never able to come across one myself. It would
have made a nice addition to my collection of mugs AND (related) Banzai
stuff. Bet it was something like $8.95 back then.

Only a few hours left on this one as I finish this up and still no
bidders.

------

Banzai Jersey

Then the same seller has this: it's a "Buckaroo BANZAI Shirt Jersey
SuPeR sCaRcE" (winged Bs logo front, BB & the HKC logo on back) they say
it's from the the same time period, '86. The only remarkable thing I see
about this 'jersey' is that it's long sleeved, a medium (what's with
these skinny fans?) AND they have the opening bid at $45!!!
Now looking over at Starland... well well well, they don't have this
design! And no long sleeved jerseys. T-shirts sell for less then half
that price though. I have to say that I think Starland is in need of a
few new designs, hint hint. ;)

Crazy Horse: The T-shirt for $45 is strange. Not only is that a lot for
an opening bid, it's a strange design. I've never seen the design
before, and I don't think it's very attractive. And that bit about
"Buckaroo Banzai : The movie." As opposed to what, the series?

Dragon: I have seen this design before. I like the winged Bs, but was
never to fond of the colors they use, yellow on purple with blue
outline. It's not that bad, but reds, yellows and black would be nicer.

Only a few hours left on this one as I finish this up too, and still no
bidders.

**** Never saw a long-sleeved BB shirt with that design before, myself.
Not one in the old Starland catalog, either. - ArcLight ****

-----

Banzai Bumper Sticker

Dragon: Same seller this time with a "No Matter..." bumper sticker,
starting bid at $8, dated '86 again. Not much to say about this item, it
was just there as part of this sellers collection, there are other items
too. I don't think $8 is too bad, a little high to start.

Crazy Horse: The bumper sticker at least looks good. I've seen 2 of them
before, on cars. I'd like to get one, but $8 just for starters is kinda
pricey.

Dragon: Well you'll have to keep your eyes out. Or, check into a
waterproof way of printing them up for yourself. I have several that say
"Team Banzai" on them, old from the late '80s. I think they were
silk-screened or something of the kind.

Well this is it for another week At The Auctions with BBIs Dragon &
Crazy Horse.
Just remember, do your research first, be patient, and learn to spell
'b-a-n-z-a-i'.

The Shadow: Return of the Demon
Part 4 Chapter 4

"Mr. Durant, the guards, one of them saw someone outside."
"So release the dogs, that's what we bought them for isn't
it?"
"Yes sir."
RAWF RAWF RAWF RAWF psssssttt...Raww...
"What the hell's going on out there? What happened to the dogs?"
"That was rather rude Durant."
"Who... Hornet? How'd you know I was..."
"Alive? Every boss in the city knows by now. How long did
you think it would take someone to notice your people back out on
the streets? Just be glad I'm not that scientist fellow, what's his name?"
"Westlake. Peyton Westlake. What do you want?"
"You have a set of books in your possession. They are of no value to you,
but I'm willing to pay you for them."
"If they're of no value to me then what do you want them for? Maybe I
can use them myself?"
"If you could, do you think I'd ask for them? It was easy enough
getting in here right now, I could just steal them if I really
wanted to. I thought, as a fellow businessman you could see
your way to selling them to meat a reasonable price. Pity."
"I never said no. Come into the collection room."
Durant stuck a cigar in his mouth and wheeled back from behind his desk.
The Hornet gasped at seeing one of his former rivals in a wheelchair.
"As you can see, I'm still getting back into the swing of things both
financially and physically. Right this way."
Durant wheeled down the red plush carpeted hallway to a steel door
with a keypad entry. "Come into my parlor said the spider to the fly,
or Hornet as it were," Durant said opening the door.
"Quite."
The darkened room was filled with wooden crates. Here and there lay
various statues, masks, pots and other artifacts in various stages of
packaging.
"These books of yours, what did they look like?"
"About yea big, a large circular emblem on the cover."
"Ah, so you're the one who posed as a cargo inspector on that shipment."
"Guilty as charged."
"Ah, here we are." Durant hoisted a stack of three large white books
from the crate. "Not terribly impressive, I must say."
"Their value isn't exactly asthetic."
"I'll let you have them on one condition."
"What?"
"Show me what they're for."
The Hornet sighed. "Very well. Let me see one of them."
Durant handed over the top book.
"Now if I'm not mistaken, you're supposed to open the book like
so and..."
"Sir someone's in the hou... oh."
"Yes, Mr. Jackson, I already know."
An identical suit type entered the room.
"Mr. Jackson, tell me you have a twin brother and that this is him...Mr.
Jackson..."
"I'm an only child Mr. Durant."
"WESTLAKE!"
The Hornet pulled his gun and gassed Durant, grabbing the books with
the other hand.
"Here," he said, shoving Durant onto the two henchmen. "Kato,"
he ordered into the microphone embedded in his lapel, "Bring the car around
and call the lair."

It's 'Be Kind To Animals Week',

Well last week we had several really good GABBs!!! Both were well
attended with 5 to 7 in the chat room at one time and a good half dozen
plus BBIs who would drop by for a while and say hello. Both lasted well
past the usual 2 hours and the topics of discussion were varied and
fun.

Try it, you'll like it.

Remember, we are at the Team Banzai server:
http://www.team-banzai.net/Chat/chat.shtml
or point your IRC to: irc.team-banzai.net and then /join #Buckaroo

Sunday May 7th, evening 6 PM PST/ 9 PM EST
Wednesday May 10th evening 6 PM PST/ 9 PM EST
Sunday May 14th, evening 6 PM PST/ 9 PM EST
Chats will last for around two hours, sometimes longer.

Not much else to say for this week... Crazy Horse made some Team Banzai
and Rug Sucker stickers. I noticed that the name brand 'Bill Blas',
'Buxton' and 'Big Butt Cigar' all use a back to back Bs as their logos.

I want to make one note here about Be Kind To Animals Week... a few
suggestions are to consider a donations of time or money to your local
Humane Society or shelter, consider adapting a homeless pet, hang a bird
feeder or put out some nuts for the squirrels.

On a very personal note, BBI Abacus and I will be doing one last act of
kindness for our long time 'family member'. Our pal 'Buckaroo' a wire
haired fox terrier has been very ill for weeks now. We have given him
the best medical treatment and our time and caring that anyone could
give. But it has come time for us to say good-bye to him and let him go.

He needs to move on and so do we. It's been a great 13 and a half years
with him. Many ups and downs. We almost lost him at least 3 times. Once
from an intestinal tumor, once I came home to find him clinging to the
edge of the pond wet and tired (he'd fallen in and couldn't get himself
out) and the last time this January from an unknown infection. We will
remember him always, as we do all the 'family members' we have brought
into our home. Pictures and fond memories will always be close.

We will be contacting our local Humane Society soon and adopt a new
companion.

A teary eyed Dragon says, peace and thanks for reading.

Always True Blue,
BBI Dragon
