Greetings,

Hope all are well. That St. Pat's day didn't put too
many under the table and such. At least not for long.

Over the coming week there'll be some new stuff going
up on the site. Would've been there already but
FortuneCity had different ideas. New pics on nearly
every page of the gallery, some new stuff in the
library and maybe some other stuff. Keep an eye
out.

Updated the Links page. Changed a few, deleted a few.
If you've got a non-BB site (or a BB site but can't
join the Webring) and want to be linked there, let me
know. If you have any other requests/suggestions for the
site, let me know that, too.

A reminder: if you don't want your real name and/or email
address posted, let me know in the message so I can
drop it out.

-ANNOUNCEMENT-
For those in the Rutherford, CT area, BB&HKC will be
playing Pendelton University next weekend. See Prof.
Solomon in the Physics Dept. for tickets.

Later...

Dragon....
Saturdays chats will be held at the Sci Fi channel's chat area. Look for
the same room title "BUCKAROO" or some uses of this worked into the
title. You must be a signed up member at the Sci Fi Channel to use
there chat rooms. So, if you are a regular Gabber, please go sign up,
it's free.
The Sci Fi channel: http://www.scifi.com
it's FALSE.
You don't have to be a member to use there IRC server.
You need it to post to their forum which is the BBoard, nothing else IS
member's only.
http://www.scifi.com/chat/
and
http://www.scifi.com/chat/chatnow.html is the urls for the IRC room,
(grumbled rant about giving techsupport to a weedsmoking 40 foot tall lizard
in the NW)
I'll be in the chat room 1 hour before each chat to help people.
The Scifi chanel and IRC aren't that hard to use. I WILL post a hint post to
this no latter then Tuesday (the 13th) and hopefully everybody will listen.
ok?
About Saturday (March 11th) I apologize to Fiero for what I did and I hope
there is NO hard feelings between us.

Subj: John Lithgow error

From:	tjarey@home.com (T.J. "SKIP" Arey N2EI)

This Sunday's "PARADE" supplement found in many newspapers contained a
career review of John Lithgow written by James Brady. It listed all of
his movies EXCEPT The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai. I wonder at the
cause of this oversight.

Frequently on this newsletter fans ask where can they get this or that
BB piece of memorabilia.
The answer is always the same, eBay.

**** Not always. T-shirts, postcards, patches and a few other items
are available at http://www.starland.com - hate seeing folks bid for
these items when I know they can get new ones for less at Starland.
- ArcLight ****

Unfortunately that means bidding
against other fans for the items you desire.
I saw a VHS copy of the film go for $26 the other day, that's not too
bad. Here is a recap of the bidding suggestion
I made some time ago:

This is an idea I worked out to help bring the price of videos down for
TABB. It always seem that there are an abundance of vhs copies of The
Film available, especially at eBay. It seem 'non-team-like' for us to be
bidding against each other when we could cooperate. Here is my
suggestion for handling this issue.

There are at least 28 days in every month. We divide the months into
four
groups of days, each with 7-8 days in each group.
Now everyone interested in bidding on a copy of TABB checks the month
they were born in.
Jan., Feb. and March bid on tapes with ending dates of Feb. 1st to 7th.
April, May and June birthdays bid on tapes with ending dates of Feb. 8th
to 14th.
July, Aug. and Sept. bid on auctions ending on Feb. 15th to the 21st.
Oct., Nov. and Dec. B-days bid on copies with ending dates of the 22nd
to 29th.
This simple method will cut down on the number of us bidding against
each other
and should help to bring down the winning price.

March 17th to 23rd if you were born in July, Aug. and Sept.
March 24th to 31th if you were born in Oct., Nov. and Dec.
April 1 to 8th if you were born in Jan., Feb. and March
April 9th to 16th if you were born in April, May and June
April 17th to 23rd if you were born in July, Aug. and Sept.
April 24th to 30th if you were born in Oct., Nov. and Dec.

Happy bidding!

GABB news.
The new locations for the twice week Gabbs were tried last week. The
Wednesday Gabb went well for all
except those with WebTV and Macs and the attendance was average.
Saturday's morning Gabb at the Sci Fi site went okay. It's an
improvement over TalkCity for sure!
Unfortunately it was not well attended by the BBIs and we did not have
any drop ins from the general fan population.
I'm going to rethink the timing for the Sci Fi site's Gabbs and see if
they can be held at a time when there are more fans at this site. Maybe
later in the day Saturday or Sunday or a week night.

Join the BB onelist (url below) for any updates to the Gabbs including
the Sci Fi Gabb for next week.

Wednesday's GABB instructions (from BBI RallyV) -
Wednesday March 22, 6 PM pst/ 9 PM est
Gabbs last for about 2 hours.

Go to the following url:
http://www.team-banzai.net/Chat/

You will find a window that has the following info:

Nickname: BBI-yournick (fill in your nick)
Server: irc.team-banzai.net (leave this as is)
Port: 6667 (leave this as is)
Channel: #Buckaroo (leave this as is)

Click the connect button

This should fire up a separate java window, immediately you
should see it connecting if it does, you are set.

You then need to click on the join channel button in this window,
type in #Buckaroo and type join. This will pop up another window,
that will have you in the channel.

Please note, all 3 windows, the original browser window, and the two
mini windows need to remain open in order for you to stay connected
to the server.

Any questions email rally@talon.org.

Well that will cover my concerns for another week in Banzai land.

Random novel quote: Reno, from the news conference - "This slide was
taken yesterday in the other dimension,"
I announced and then, ignoring the frenzied hands of the journalists,
said, "Next slide, please."
The details around the sailor had been obscured by a shadow and a
curious electrical fog... It was the image of a United States naval
vessel, the boyish sailor being but one of many visible upon her decks,
all wearing the same ghastly expression of disbelief and helplessness,
jaws ajar, eyes dilated and fastened on some nameless unholy terror".
