Greetings,
First off, welcome to all who've joined since the last mailing.
Feel free to hop in with opinions, ideas, stories, questions, etc...

Hope 1997 is treating everyone okay. I know the weather has been a bear
in some parts. Most of the area around here seemed determined to float
into the Pacific for awhile.

On the BB front, Billy Vera and the Beaters have a new live CD out.
I'm not much of a reviewer, but I feel I can safely say that if you liked
his stuff on "By Request" you'll like this. It's called "Oh, What A Nite"
by the way. There's a link on the World Watch One page to BV's
homepage, where you can find a bit more about it, including some
sound files, and, for Los Angeles area folks, where to catch
him live.
The web page address is up top, where you can also find
the BB Frequently Asked Questions file, designed to (if we did our job right)
answer any question you may have about BB, including sources for videos,
books, etc...
Read it, learn it, make it a part of you. <g> And if you've any cool facts
to add, please let either myself or Sean know.
New to the page (with mucho thanks to Billy Travers and Prof. Hikita) is
a computer simulation of John Parker transforming from his human to
Adder form. The next best thing to sucking down some of The Formula.
If you ask me.

If anyone happens to be going to the Creation Con on the 25th in Sacramento,
look for someone in a BB shirt. Odds are it'll be me. Say "Hi."

And for me, well, it's not a rerelease of BB, but some little flick called
"Star Wars" is showing back up in theaters around here. I figure I'll go
see it one or two...dozen...times.

Till next time,
Chris

ArcLight (Mr. Light to his friends...?) -

That storied day in '84 when the lights went down and the Jet Car
drove clean through a mountain of solid rock - changed my life, changed
the meme pool, the collective unconscious, the lives of teeming
millions, changed everythang. So imagine my most heppy state when I
found a BB mailing list! Sign me in, good sir: Blue Blaze Irregular

My perts: 25, Canajan (we too have a New Brunswick police
station!), historian-in-training, terrible chess player, amateur
filmmaker, initial test subject Banzai Institute Project Telefon (we're
talking DEEP cover), good working knowledge of french, Melville, utility
theory, hyper-plane geometry, naval architecture, Sai Jin "Panther
style", electro-chemical brainwashing techniques, and Creem's "Badge" on
a six-string (well, almost). I was once tempted to the dark side, but
Buckaroo's example showed me a better way, and now I live to fight evil
and the dreaded Hanoi Xan.
My motto? "To know, to will, to dare, to mock incessantly."

Please add me to the WordWatch One mailing list. My name is Chris M Craig -
I'm a physicist, blues musician, design engineer, and Web expert from San
Diego.

I first caught sight of Buckaroo in 1989, when a friend of mine loaned me
his tape and urged me to study it well. Since then, I've hungered to meet
like-minded folk, but until just recently (thanks to the Web) I haven't
found anyone.

Now, I've found a script to the sequel, a herd of Banzai
Institute-affiliate sites, and now this list. There is hope for the world
after all.

Please let me know if you have any questions. My address is
ccraig@compecon.com.

TABB started for me in high-school (Jesuit, Sacramento), and
quickly spread to my friends. We all soul searched over cool code-names (I
finally chose 'Neutrino' after some of the doccumentation form the 20th
Century Fan club info packs).

BB might have just been responsible for my getting a Master's
degree in Biochemistry from Boston University. How I ended up getting a job
at UC Davis, almost a stone's throw from the last place I saw the movie
actually on film, can only be serendipity....

Any way- I hope that's enough to get you started- not bad for a
Friday at 5:30p I think!

I have an old beta copy of BB and am looking for a laser disk copy. Any
ideas? By the way, Cinemax has been running BB for the last few days.

About a month ago, my friends and I were in a video store and
we heard that Buckaroo Banzai put out a great flic. Well indeed,
after we saw it, we have come to realize that Buckaroo is another
idol for us young adults.
My name is Brian and I'm 17. We always rent the movie and
show it to all of our friends, and the movie is a hit amongst us.
We are the types who make videos for fun, and soon we will be
making a silly crazy movie with a bunch of senseless skits. And at
the end, we will do exactly what Buckaroo Banzai did at the end of
8th Dim., we will walk around in a resevoir.
Well anyway, is there any way of obtaining the music to the
soundtrack? It would come in handy in many perspectives. If you
can, send me any info you know regarding future attempts at
Buckaroo and also, why didn't they make World Crime League?

	Another BB irregular,

YES! Sign me up as a Blue Blazer Irregular.

BTW, I have my own BB story...

I love hockey, especially the Boston Bruins. (Don't laugh!)
Anyway, I used to buy myself a ticket to the one LA
Kings/Boston Bruins game every year (while I lived in LA).
So, on 2/14/94, there I was, behind the net, four rows from
the ice, ready to enjoy a fine game of hockey, when who
should sit down next to me but Rawhide himself, Clacny Brown.
Since I am in the film industry, I know that most actors like
to be left alone, so I didn't bother him much, but I had to
ask him one question.

"Excuse me, Mr. Brown. I don't want to be a bother, but I
have to ask you one question that's been bothering me for a
decade. If you don't mind."

"No, go ahead."

"Okay, in BB, while you all are looking for the Lectroids,
you pass a watermelon in a vice. The guy you're with points
to it and you say 'I'll tell you later.' but you died before
you got back to it. Why was the watermelon in the vice?"

"I don't know. I never asked."

"Okay."

One of life's mysteries explained.

All BB wanted was for us to watch out for each other and help each
other. Nothing grand or even hard for that matter, just to be
considerate and respectful of each others needs and feelings.

Where have you been all my life?

I stumbled across Buckaroo one day while surfing the cable channels and have
been a BBI ever since. Anyone out there know where I can find BB promo items?

Thanks for your e-mail.

Yes, I would like to join your '8th Dimension' discussion group. I have
been an enthusiast of Buckaroo Banzai since I first saw it on some cable
channel. I taped it and have watched several (hundred) times. I had hoped
to see the second installment of the movie (Buckaroo Banzai Against the
World Crime League) by now. I love the movie and every time I watch it, I
see something new (especially in the background scenes).
I guess my favorite scene is when Buckaroo and the Prof are in the back of
the van and Buckaroo shows the Prof the formula written on his hand and asks
him, "what is this?" and the prof replys, "it, it's your hand buckaroo!"

I have just found this home page,
(http://members.aol.com/wwatchone/web/wwonline.htm) so I will be exploring
the rest of the site(s).

Thanks Bill

Hi! I'd like to join this mailing list. One of the things I'd like to
say are:
I'm on a Jeff Goldblum fan list right now, and we have a number of
projects we're working on now to get what we want. It seems like these
things are going to work, too.
Couldn't all Buckaroo Banzai-ites unite to MAKE the film industry do a
sequel? Even if it was released directly to video and never in the
theatres, it would be REALLY nice.

Miriam

p.s. There are two Buckaroo Banzai fans in my home that I know of:myself
and my father; we're both avid scifi buffs, and loved BB

Please put me on your mailing list. I think it'll be great fun to talk to
other Team Banzai fans. I first saw Buckaroo Banzai over 10 years ago. I
didn't see it during it's original theatrical run but I did rent it when it
first came out on cableand I've watched it at least 5 times every years since
then. It's an old fevorite that I know I can come back to over and over
again when I want to relax and watch a movie I know I'm going to enjoy. In
fact my tape is pretty much worn out. I'd like to buy it on Laser disc, but
we all know how expensive the BB LDs have become since it went out of print
several years ago. Any word on if it will ever be re-released. Maybe in a
deluxe version with the original ohat would be a blast. I hope to here from
you or any other Team Banzai fans soon. I can be reached at kenmcd1@aol.com.
