Greeting and salutations....
I know, this is early but it's the first day of Spring, gotta celebrate somehow! (Besides, *Irregular* is
the operative word around here, right?)
And now, on with the show!

Thanks lots for the reply. Count me in on the Mailing List! I just
baought a computer and the first thing I did after connecting to the Net
for the first time was to find anything that had to do with BB. It is so
rare that I find anyone who has even heard of BB that I was almost
convinced the whole thing was a hoax!

A brief introduction: my friend, one of the ultimate BB fans (hence his
address johnworfin@aol.com) enlightened me around '85 when we were in high
school in Santa Barbara. I lost track of how many times I've seen the
movie. The best thing about it is who "gets" it. I've since moved to
Indiana (temporarily) and knew I had met my future husband when we watched
my tape and he laughed as hard as I did. He definitely nailed it!

My favorite character when I was in HS was Perfect Tommy, just because I'm
a gal and he's cute. But I'm beyond the "cute" phase now and by far my
favorite character is New Jersey. My favorite part of the movie is how he
deduces the hoax: "waitaminute waitaminute. 30 days has September April
June and November all the rest have thirty-ONE. October 31st.
Halloween.......Maybe it wasn't a hoax, or I mean maybe it isn't a hoax."

Looking forward to the letters. Oh, please also explain what "fanfic" is.
I'm afraid you've got me on that one. Thanks again for the response!

How did I ever star on ol' BB? Being a fan of Doc Savage, Rocketeer
and anything off-beat, I was prime. Also being of Amer-Asian origins,
I identified immediately with the title "Buckaroo Banzai". All I had
to see was that logo and the True Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai and I
was hooked.
The sad part of it is... I and all of us saw one movie and a few
comics. Where can we go from here?

Maybe we should continue the adventures ourselves? Who's game for
it?

Just a question. Was Carl Lumbly in Pee-Wee's big adventure? In a reated
question, who was the drum player in the night-scene. We never see him
again, and he seems to be wearing a silver jacket and dreads. Was he a
black lectroid spy. Or, did the black lectroids model their human disguise
to match him?

Fellow BB Fans.

	A Director's Cut of tAoBBAt8thD exists.

	I have a copy.

Unfortunately, the quality ranges from fair to poor.(it is VERY
dark in some spots) It is an nth-generation copy which was "released"
in Cyprus. The picture on the box/case is when Buckaroo was being
tortured by Lizardo while attached to the crazy headgear.(a smaller
portion of the scene featured on the 2nd issue of the comics adaptation
of the movie) The movie is letterboxed with a reel/minute/frame
counter at the bottom and contains the following additional footage
(~15 total minutes)

	1. a scene with young Buckaroo, his dad, his mom(Jamie Lee
	Curtis)
Note: This scene is also in the comics adaptation of the movie.
(the magazine size version also contains an interview with W.D.
	Richter)
	2. more of Buckaroo and Honk Kong Cavaliers in the bar where
	they meet Penny
	3. ...I forget...sorry...

Has anyone found a source for a BETTER copy of the Director's
Cut?

Does anyone have copies of the World Watch One fanclub
newsletters from 8 to 10 years ago?(I have copies of most of them, but
do still need a few)

"Perfect Tommy" can also be seen in the mini-series North and
South, which the Family channel has been showing reruns of for the past
couple of months.

	Thanks!

I have to gifts to bring pa rum-pum-pum-pum...

1) My favorite character is Jersey because he's from Fort Lee, NJ and is a
hell of a sharp dresser.

2) Second favorite is John Many Jars because I beleive he's related to my
maternal grandfather (Herbert Many Jars).

3) I once performed karaoke under the nom de stage Perfect Tommy doing
mostly Neil Diamond songs. Fan response was overwhelming.

4) Have dedicated 3/17ths of my free time to tracking down movies made since
1984 that have included the line "No matter where you go, there you are." So
far, my research has only turned up "Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome."

5) I'm developing theories on Orson Welles' involvement in the Grover's Mill
landings and the parallels both historically and artistically between his
film "The Magnificent Ambersons" and "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai
Across the 8th Dimension." I will send you my latest research post haste for
your next issue.

Well, It was great hearing about all you guys! As for the question of the
book, yes it does exist-I have it. It's great, it's written from Reno's
point of view. If they can't make another movie, how about writing some more
books? I have part one of the two issue miniseries comic-if anyone has an
extra part two and is willing to sell it let me know. I can get BB t-shirts
for about $16-$20 at conventions I go to, maybe less. Will also be on the
lookout for another book. As for the infamous watermelon question, I hear it
was supposedly answered in a "Battletech" book. I, however, am going to do
something I've wanted to do for a long time. I am going to a convention and
I'm going to bring a tape recorder and ask everyone there what they think it
was for. My own personal opinion? It was waiting to be used in a Reynolds
plastic wrap commercial. : )
Liz (who is glad to hear there is a *real* team Banzai out there, and wishes
she could see it....)

How could anyone like any character more than New Jersey?
His costume alone makes him superior to all others.

Out of curiosity,
on the web page there is a section with computerscreens...
how come the screen with all of the "John"s is not included?

(Or maybe it is and I just missed it?)
