Greetings,

Well, a pretty short one this time around. (and we all know who's
fault that is, don't we?<g>)
First off, I'm going ahead and sending this out in hopes to spur
some thoughts, and because that impending move I was mentioning
is coming up this week and I may not be hooked up for a bit.
Rest assured, the accounts are staying open so email away, it'll all
get taken care of.
I've done a little bit of work on the World Watch OnLine page (URL is
above). I've pretty well maxed out the space so I need to do some more
reorganizing, but I've tossed a better shot of Perfect Tommy up, along with
a shot of Rawhide finally. Shots of the other *will* follow, when time permits.
(and Buckaroo thinks everything doesn't happen at once, he should be
here with me!)

As far as the write-in campaign that's been mentioned...I'd have to vote
*against* it right now. No, Lectroids haven't taken over my body, honest.
It's just that right now, things are still in a state of flux with the rights, as
far as who, if anyone, is going to do anything with them. There's a better
chance that we'd just annoy someone and kill the chances of anything
happening.
Also there's the fact that, well, there just aint that many of us right now.
We NEED to increase our numbers.
I think a better task for the moment is to keep publicizing the continued
interest, with stuff like web sites, that proposed newsgroup, that sort of
thing. Remember, right now TABB is just some ten year old flick with
a limited, if any, appeal as far as 'the suits' are concerned.
We have to make sure EVERYONE knows that's not the case and that there
is still some money to be made with this thing.
So make a noise! Tell your friends! (heck, tell your enemies too!)

Anyway, that's my two cents on the whole deal.
Wish me luck on the job/apartment hunting...
Chris

<< In the interest of making this outing a wee bit longer, and at the
risk of torquing off any copyright lawyers in our midst, here something
for the Perfect Tommy fans out there. - WW1>>

"...the origins of the Buckaroo Banzai
videogame upon which quarters have
been so avidly lavished in pinball
parlors not only in this country but
across the European continent and
the Japanese islands. It was in-
vented in a moment of frustration by
Perfect Tommy, whose quicksilver re-
flexes proved more than a match fo.r
each commercial computer-assisted
game he attempted. Thus, one rainy
afternoon when he was prevented
from free-climbing the World Trade
Center as he'd intended, he devised
a videogame both quick and multi-
plicitous enough to beat him at
least some of the time.
We fovnd that, with 75% of the
variables and 80% of its speed re-
moved, this game held a powerful
attraction for those young and not-
so-young members of the public who
yearn to join, even if only vicar-
iously, in B. Banzai's ceaseless
guest to shield the world from the
evil designs of Hanoi Xan. Indeed,
this game has proven even more pop-
ular than Tommy's other idly-con-
cocted toy, the 4-dimensional cube
game that can only be solved for
ten seconds at a time before its
facets change color, which we..."

Maybe this has been mentioned already, but if it hasn't, it's a pretty
neat piece of trivia. Did anyone know that the song being played at the
night club before Buckaroo sings "If I Don't Have You" is called "Rocket
88?" I just heard it on a jazz station. It sounded familiar, then when
they said it was called "Rocket 88," I remembered. I wonder if the Jet
Car, license plate, and Buckaroo's call sign came from that song, or
vice versa. (I'm assuming the HB came from his father's initials). Any
comments?

Just Bill

hey

"We at the Banzai Institute have at last found that way"
got the VRML version up -
Blue Blaze Station #23 Space Annex is fully operational. You need to have the

Netscape Live3D plug-in (should come with 3.0) to access it; i haven't tried
other VRML browsers or plug-ins. I must say, it's fab fun.

The entire Station pages are linked up to the various worlds.
An explanation and tip sheet, as well as access, can be reached from the
Main page at BBS#23.

now, as soon as i can get the points worked out for the Oscillation
Overthruster,
it could get interesting.

let me know what you think.

regards,
relayer

Subj:	Buckaroo and I

From:	deruiter@scf-fs.usc.edu (Ed DeRuiter)

My name's Ed DeRuiter, and I hail from here and there. My first
experience with Buckaroo was way back in 1984, I was dragged to the
movies with my older cousin. Thank god he wanted to see Buckaroo Banzai.
I was eight then, and for the past twelve years I have been a loyal fan.
As for how Buckaroo has affected my life; well, I'm a junior at the
University of Southern California with a double major in Japanese and
Pyscholgy, with a Neuroscience minor. Neuroscience is not offered as an
undergraduate degree, but the minor program in conjuction with
psychology will allow me to study Neuroscience in graduate school. I was
to have attepmted medical school to become a neurologist, but I realized
that I would have become disatisfied with a life devoted solely to
medicine. In my spare time I study Kendo and Iai-do, and play the guitar
and piano. I hope to take up the trumpet soon. Oh, I also write, and for
a cinema class here I decided to write a pilit for "The Adventures of
Buckaroo Banzai", an animated TV series. It was quite well recieved by
my peers, and I may post it at a later date. That's about all for now, I
guess I should request being put on the mailing list as well. Domo
Arigato,

Ed DeRuiter
