Greetings,
Thought I'd shoot another one of these things off, especially with Rafterman and
Cylon3's announcements. Some cool stuff to be sure.
On the World Watch OnLine front, why didn't anyone tell me how bad my spelling
was on the pages?!? Well, I got an HTML editor now that can spell-check without
choking on the HTML tags, so I should have those all fixed by the end of the
weekend. And most embarrassingly, I've been spelling New Jersey's name wrong
all this time - it's Zwibel, not Zweibel or Zwiebel like I wrote it. I'm gonna lose my
internship if I'm not careful.
Anyway, on with the show!

Chris

Hello World Watch members!

As World Watch One is approaching 200 members, it may be time to start
thinking of a not-to-distant letter-writing campaign to 20th Century Fox.
I'm sure that getting, oh, 200 or so letters from Banzai fans would make some

of the executives at 20th Century Fox finally consider making the long
overdue Buckaroo Banzai sequel. Of course, the campaign would have to be
well
coordinated. So, what do you Banzai-ites think about a letter writing
campaign? And does anyone have any particular strategies for such a
campaign that might make it highly effective? Yep, I think it's time
that we Buckaroo Banzai fans make the leap from just talking about the
"good ole memories " we have of the original movie and start getting
pro-active! Let's push for a NEW Buckaroo Banzai movie!

Hi,
i am a fan of the movie buckaroo banzai and found this page and it has
been marked as a favorite already.

i am presently looking for a replica of the overthruster i remember
them being out there many years ago and were made of resin does anyone in
the club happen to have one for sale????

a tid-bit about the overthruster it is currently used on deepspace
nine as a cardissian weapon and is featured in the art of star trek as and
unidentified gadget look it up i believe it is on page 128, the graphics
designer mike okuda if i am not mistaken also
worked on buckaroo and that would explain the crossover of the piece.

thanks j.r.

Greetings and Salutations,
I first saw Buck Banzai some four years ago after an article in Wizards
comic magazine listed it as a little-known cult sci-fi must-see
film(also listed was Highlander and They Live;with Roddy Piper) After I
saw it I thought to myself,"Now there's a movie with wasted
potential...and critiqued it too death. I was hoping for a kung-fu
fighting, hard-rocking, big-budget blockbuster...and totally missed the
point. Well, a couple months ago, I thought again of Banzai and his
Hong Kong Cavaliers, and being a screenwriter, I wanted to write the
next chapter in the Banzai series(skipping the 'World Crime League'
storyline, and creating an elaborate plot to happen as if the third in a
series. But when I went to rent the movie again, I watched it...and it
hit me! This movie is great! From the names of the characters(don't
tell me John Bigboote, correcting the humorous mispronunciation of his
name isn't exactly like Count the Money(De Monet, De Monet) from History
of the World Part ONE?) And the signs in the background (Nobudy in
here, Sekrit) to Banzai's incredible wit.(Where ever you go, there you
are.) It just clicked, and now, beside researching and writing the next
chapter in this sadly-forgotten epic(I'm going with 'Banzai:The Prodigal
Son') But I have become a Die Hard fan, and would love any info on B.B.
mailing lists, fan clubs,,,whatever. I see you updated this as of a few
days ago, so I assume B.B. fans are as strong as ever! You can reach me
at JWatts@mindspring.com
Thank you,Sean!

Is it true that BB is going to be re-released on video? I think I read it
here a few newsletters ago. I bought a bad copy from a dealer in Kentucky.
The sound is off, clarity bad.

I can't pinpoint the exact cause for my love of BB. The first time I saw
it, the end credits caught my eye. The Hong Kong Cavaliers and everyone
else joining the group to the kicking soundtrack. It took me a few viewings
to completely understand the whole Emilio Lizardo/alien/Rasta thing. What
can I say, I was a little kid.

I love the newsletter. Keep up the good work.

There's an interview with the Boss' alter-ego at http://www.cybervanguard.com/interviews/weller.html

It's mainly for 'Screamers' but it doesn't mention 'TABB' near the end.

Greetings & Salutations,

I just came across you site and I'm stoked. Yet another place for BB to live
on.
I've been a fan of Buckaroo's for 12 yrs. now, although I didn't have the
pleasure
of ever seeing the movie on the big screen. In reading some of you back
issues I
came across some enquaries about the BB comic books. There were two issues
and you can still get copies from Mile High Comics, 2151 w. 56th Ave.,
Denver,
Co 80221, (303) 455-2659. Hey, If anyone out there know how I can get a BB
jacket and/or headband I would be forever grateful!

Until lithium is available on credit,
Matt Smith

Yeah, subscribe me to that BB mailing list.

I saw Buckaroo Banzai in the theater when it opened. Loved it, badly wanted
the World Crime League follow-up. I found the novel second-hand a few years
later and actually dug it more; an uncompromised and richly textured visit
to Buckaroo's world. Why hasn't Richter given us another BB novel? God
knows he should have by now.

Praying for a director's cut of BB on LD. . . .
